Pastor - Scott Walker


Scott Walker has been pastor of Tyson’s Creek since April, 2009. He and his wife, Sherry, have been married since 1994 and have a daughter named Kylie; and a son named Nehemiah. 

Scott received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has a passion to see lives transformed by the Holy Spirit through the word of God. 


 

Minister of Youth - Bradley Kidd


Bradley Kidd has served as youth minister at Tyson’s Creek since 2006. Bradley and his wife Holly have been married for ten years and have a son Easton and a daughter Brynn. 

Bradley and Holly both have a passion to see students put their faith in Jesus. Bradley also serves on the Executive Committee of the Sandy Creek Baptist Association for youth ministry. 

He teaches high school agriculture at Union Pines High School in Cameron, NC. Bradley received his B.S. in Agricultural Education in 2004 and M.A. in Agricultural Education in 2005 from North Carolina State University.

Minister of Music - Andrew Dickens


Andrew Dickens has served as the Minister of Music at Tyson's Creek Baptist Church since March 2002. Andrew and his wife Sylvia have been married since 1978. They have three sons, Caleb, Joshua and Jordan and three grandchildren.

Andrew studied music under Dr. James Kimball. He studied Religion at Liberty School of Bible and Religious Studies. He has worked with church music for approximately 35 years. Andrew served at Central Baptist Temple for six years as Music Director.

He served as assistant choir director and orchestra director at Grace Chapel Church. His first staff position as a minister of music was at Swann Station Baptist Church in 1989, where he served for seven years. He then served at Cool Springs Baptist Church seven years before God called him to Tyson’s Creek. Andrew is bi-vocational and has been employed with Lowe’s Foods for approximately 39 years.

Ministry Administrator - Deborah Wood

 

As our ministry administrator, Deborah oversees all things related to our Tyson’s Creek church office. Deborah is excited to be able to exercise her gifts of administration, organization, and attention to detail here at Tyson’s Creek Baptist Church.

 

Deborah also teaches violin classes in Siler City and plays violin and viola in her church and the community, Her husband Kerry is pastor of Goldston Methodist Church.  Deborah and Kerry have three grown children, two sons-in-law, and two granddaughters.

Born in Brownsville, Texas and raised in Corpus Christi, Deborah met Kerry while they were in college in the Texas panhandle town of Canyon, Texas. They spent the first 15 years of their marriage living in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. In 2002, God called Kerry into full-time ministry and they moved their family to Ohio where they spent the next 20 years. In late 2022, they responded to a truly Holy Spirit-led call to come to Chatham County where they feel that they are living their dream!

 

In her free time, Deborah enjoys crocheting, sewing, and other needle arts, cooking, studying God’s Word, playing violin, and, most of all, spending time with her husband!
